This area affords fell walking, bird watching, riding, cycling and fishing, whilst Appleby, just 2 miles away, host to the gypsy horse fair in June, offers golf, a swimming pool and bowls as well as shops, inns and eating places.

Had a great holiday in the lakes, this property was great for us 4 adults and 2 children. Quiet area and rural, my grandsons don't like crowds etc and lived it here, although the owners are elderly they are both very welcoming and helpful. Cottage itself much what was expected for a 17th century building conversion.

The cottage gave us everything we needed for our short stay and the owners were very welcoming. Cruck End is a good base to visit the Eden Valley and northern lakes.
