It is conveniently located in the Lancashire village of Forton, just 3 miles from the popular market town of Garstang which offers an abundance of individual shops, cafés, pubs and a weekly market on a Thursday.
Brookside Cottage provides a good standard of accommodation, with a great outdoor space, which has a gated area to sit in and watch the brook trickle by.
Guests can enjoy walks from the doorstep, with the picturesque Lancaster Canal only ½ a mile away for walking, cycling and fishing, or even day boat hire.
There are also several fishing lakes available locally.
With Scorton village nestling at the foot of the Bowland Fells just 1½ miles away, there is easy access to the Forest of Bowland (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), where guests can enjoy walks on the fells or drive through the beautiful Trough of Bowland.
There is a highly rated traditional country pub serving food just 400 yards away from the cottage.
A wider range of amenities can be found in the nearby historic city of Lancaster, 8 miles away; here you can visit Lancaster Castle, museums or even the Butterfly House at Williamson Park.
Windermere, Kendal and the South Lakes are just a 40-minute drive.
The popular seaside town of Blackpool, with its beach, famous tower, Pleasure Beach, zoo and Sandcastle Water Park, is also worth a visit.

We stayed for a 4 day break with family. The 2 Ensuite bedrooms were perfect for the 4 adults staying. Living room had plenty of seating, was cosy and comfortable. Kitchen had everything you could need. Short drive to Garstang which has supermarkets and plenty of choice of pubs to eat etc. Lancaster and Preston also close by.

Had a great time at Brookside Cottage near Forton. The house is ideal, and all the provisions were welcome. Loved the Christmas decorations and the kitchen diner was a great size for having friends over for a Christmas buffet. Will be back again in the future. Was ideal for the dogs too with the enclosed garden. They got to meet their new friends next door.

A very comfortable property with all the facilities that you would hope to have. The gardens are enclosed and are good for dogs. The local pub is good, although care is needed with the traffic when walking there along the lane.
