The small and tranquil village of Halsall is located just 3 miles from the market town of Ormskirk, with a variety of individual shops, cafés, restaurants and a twice weekly market.
The local gastro pub and restaurant which can be reached within a 20-minute walk, offers meals, or take a long boat cruises along the canal for either afternoon tea or even an evening tapas cruise.
Cyclists and walkers can explore for miles along this part of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.
There are more eateries in neighbouring Town Green, which also has a train station, where you can take the train into central Liverpool in half an hour, to enjoy a visit to the theatre or a shopping spree in the popular Liverpool One.
The coastal town of Southport is just 8 miles away, with its long sandy beach and promenade.
